Hostname changes

Is there a possibility that SIM automatically recognizes a hostname-change ?

The problem is that when the host name changes the old device lists as unreachable and the new one is discovered and listed as new device.

any ideas ?

That shouldn't be the behavior. On initial discovery, hpSIM assings a GUID, typically the server's serial number. If the same device pops up under another name or another IP, it should recognize it as the same.
