How do I monitor system temperature.
I have a clustered system in another city which gives me temperature alerts from the weekend.
I am not familiar with how to edit a current MIB or how to create new MIBs.
How can I find out what the current system temperature is?
How can I create a log of system tempearature on a hour by hour basis over the weekend?
Can I log system temperatures on just CPU's, or can I do it on MSA's as well?
Thank you. Brent

Re: How do I monitor system temperature.
There is no current system temperature; these are discrete readings at each of the sensor locations and cannot be generalized into system temperature. They are only relevant in comparison to the individual thresholds set at the factory. Internal sensor temperature can NOT be used to infer ambient temperature.
If you are trying to ascertain an environmental event (such as A/C failure) and correlate it to the overtemp alerts, look to the timestamp on the alert for that information.

Re: How do I monitor system temperature.
I see now that there is a threshold set at the factory. It is possible to edit the threshold to react at 80 degrees, so I would know what the temperature was at that time stamp?
I am trying to prove to the facilities department that additional a/c systems need to be installed or upgraded.
