How do I setup a new server as managed? - frustrated!#$
I've installed SIM and can see both servers under all systems. But both come up as un managed...How do I make them managed.
I spent a day configuring 2 servers and installing windows 2003 without an issue. I've now spent 3 days trying to get SIM working! What ever happen to having a simple little Insight Manager. uuugh

You should configure the SNMP Community string on the managed node and also install Management agents. There is a task in HPSIM called "Repair Agent Settings" under Configure menu. This tasks will help you in configuring the SNMP community string on the specific device that is shown as unmanaged. After the task is executed, rediscover the device in HPSIM. Hope this fixes the problem.

What kind of servers?
If you used Smart Start, snmp and agents should be deployed.
In W2003 snmp by default sets allow selected hosts only, either change this to allow all or add localhost and the hpsim server.

Rob--I was having the same problem, set the SNMP as you suggested, and it worked!
Thanx much.
