How to delete/uninstall old drivers not used from version control manager?

I am using HP System Insight Manager ver 5.0
I have a few systems where a driver is not needed anymore, and therefore updates are not installed, eg HP network Utility on two old Compaq servers. As the drivers still are being seen by Version Control the server is noted as having old software. I can not find anyplace to delete or uninstall the driver.
Any ideas?

Have you gone to the Version Controll Manager, There will show all drivers and softwares and you can delete individuals or old PSP you not using any more.

Hi, from the SIM homepage, click on the CMS (Central Management Server) icon to get to the homepage of the csm-server. From here you click on the HP Version Control Repository link, and on the homepage of the VCRM click on the Catalog tab. Here you can delete items from the repository.

I was not explaining this well enough. It is not a problem with the repository, the problem is by two servers calling the repository. I want to delete the drivers fron the list of "drivers installed on this server"...

Re: How to delete/uninstall old drivers not used from version control manager?

For uninstalling "HP Network Configuration Utility" do the following steps in that 2 servers

1) Right-click My Network Places and choose Properties.
2) Right-click any active network card connection and click Properties.
3) Choose HP Network Configuration Utility 7 and click Uninstall.
4) To uninstall the driver, click Yes.
5) For the changes to take effect, click Yes to reboot the server.

after rebooting check VCA.

Re: How to delete/uninstall old drivers not used from version control manager?

Thanks for solving the network configuration problem. It sure helped. Now I have one left. On one server I have moved the disk from one server to another in a migration. I know have this left in VCA:
HP ProLiant Advanced System Management Controller Driver for Windows 2000/Server 2003 5.31.2195.0 5.35.0.0 5.35.0.0

HP ProLiant iLO Advanced and Enhanced System Management Controller Driver for Windows 2000/Server 2003 5.37.0.0 5.37.0.0 5.37.0.0

The first one does not get updated as it is not needed. Any ideas how to wolve this one.

Re: How to delete/uninstall old drivers not used from version control manager?

I have exactly the same problem after moving disks to another server.

Cannot uninstall or update drivers because hardware is not present, and get an error from VCA because drivers are out of date :-)

Re: How to delete/uninstall old drivers not used from version control manager?

Most of the Time Don't move the Server HardDisk to other servers with out uninstalling Unwanted softwares,

Rename The following file which is in "winnt/system32/drivers" folder

cpqasm.sys
cpqasm2.sys

and wait for 2 min and refresh VCA

Re: How to delete/uninstall old drivers not used from version control manager?

Yes, thanks for the last one as well. Worked wonders!!
I know you should not move disks in that way, but compared to reinstalling major systems the System Insight Manager VCA is a cosmetical problem you can live with even if you do not solve it. But thanks for getting away with all my problems in VCA. Now I only need to understand why I sometimes get the wrong response in the task. But that will be in another thread. Thanks a lot! Points are assigned as well..
