How to get support for Solaris
Dear All
Out of 40 Server that we manage running HPUX, customer has one Solaris OS running on HP make Intel Hardware, and wish to handover this server in HP's Support.
I have following questions:
1. How to check whether solaris server is having proper license or not.
2. Is HP provides supports for the Solaris OS.
3. What are the parameters to check before commiting user for taking into OS support only for Solaris OS.
I have to visit the site to check the server for OS license, Backup device etc.
Please advice...Full marks for suggestion..

Re: How to get support for Solaris
I doubt you'll get HP support for Solaris, but you should try contacting your HP account manager if you already have an HP support contract.
There are free x86 versions of Solaris available, no idea how you check though.
If you've only the one server running Solaris then I'd review why, and look to standardise the OS.
Doesn't really matter which OS you're supporting, if you have a lot of odd ones around you're more exposed.

Re: How to get support for Solaris
Solaris has been supported by HP on ProLiant servers for more than 10 years now. For more information, visit http://www.hp.com/servers/proliant --> Industry Standard Operating Systems --> Solaris for more information.
