How to make custom commands available to non admin

I'm working on limiting the amount/type of access users will have on our SIM server and I was wondering if it is possible and how to make selected custom commands available to them.

I'm right now leaning towards "None" - for CMS access rights. When I look at the tools available for assignment I don't see any of my custom tools/commands.

Thanks for any help given.

Sorry, I should add I'm talking about SIM 4.1.

If I may ask, why are you not giving the custom command person rights? You can have just "user" rights to certain functions of SIM but if "trust" is an issue, I would not allowing access to custom commands. If you need them to run commands, they will need authority on CMS.

Re: How to make custom commands available to non admin

Our group manages the CMS and we have over 500 servers we are responsible for monitoring. Among those 500+ servers are various groups of LAN admins whom have responsibility over just a subset of those servers.

We want those LAN admins to have the benefit of a centralized mgmt system but at the same time we have to ensure that they don't mess with other servers they have no rights or responsibility for and that they don't change the CMS system in any way.

I've found through experimentation that a user can do quite a bit when their CMS rights are set to none and then they are given certain actions through the use of a toolbox.

The 2 things a user set to "None" for CMS rights can't do (that would be nice to do) is create their own reports (they need "Limited") or do anything with events other than delete and view (they need "Full" to do more with the events which is unfortunate).

I am hoping that with either none or limited rights we can configure them to be able to run certain custom commands...but maybe this is not possible...I'm still trying to figure this out.

Thanks for any help you can give.
