HP SIM 4.2 Homepage

I am new to HP SIM. I just upgraded HP SIM ver. 4.1 to 4.2 on our main SIM box. I was under the impression that when I pushed out new version control web agents (2.0.7.10) and management agents(7.0.0.0) that the client homepage would also be updated to the new administrative format (Systems Management Homepage V2.0.0.103) that accepts domain credentials. Can anyone tell me if the client management webpages(http server 5.94.0) get updated or just the SIM webpage, and if so how.

I believe the updates to this are part of the 7.2 Agents that I think are due in February, but HP should be able to confirm.

So if I understand you correctly, the client management webpages will not change to the new format till the 7.2.0.0 Management agents are released. The documentation does not state that the CMS management webpage is the only interface that is changed. I just wanted to make sure I didnt miss something.

As Rob indicated, the new System Management Homepage 2.0 appears with Systems Insight Manager 4.2 for the SIM server, but for the non-SIM servers, the System Management Homepage is still 1.x. See related thread: http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=781208

Also, for those System Management Homepages, HP has released an update to correct an isssue with the HTTP stack you'll likely want to apply:

That is absolutely correct - HPSIM 4.2 shipped with the new System Management Homepage because it contains the new VCRM that relies on SMH 2.0 (this is the version that uses OS authentication). The 7.20 PSP's (windows and linux) will include a new component called the System Management Homepage (v2.0). When you upgrade to the 7.20 PSP, you will automatically get upgraded to the new SMH.

For now, you can get the new SMH from the SIM download or from the 7.20 Management CD ISO image that is available on the web. You can get to it from the HPSIM web page (http://www.hp.com/go/hpsim/) or here is a direct link to the ISO: http://h18013.www1.hp.com/products/servers/management/hpsim/download.html#mgmtcd

The new component won't be available till the first of Februrary with the new SmartStart 7.20 deliverables though for scripted installs or installs via Version Control. You have to do manual installs in the mean time.
