HP SIM 5.1 : some questions about Webjetadmin and multi vendor

Hello,

I'd like to know where I can find a list of non HP products supported and "manageable" by
HPSIM 5.1

Also, is WebJetAdmin necessary if you already installed SIM ? Or is it providing more capabilities ? Do we need both tools ? Are they compatible on the same server ?

=> HP SIM relies on industry standards like snmp, wbem, wmi, dmi to identify and manage devices.By default, HP SIM can discover some IBM and Dell servers for identification rules have been preset on the CMS. Some Mibs have also been complied so that HP SIM could recieve traps from these servers. However, these mibs are compiled but they are not all actvated by default. Other vendors are also providing papers on how to manage their servers with HP SIM :

Now as a list, you can check the appendix of the document I mentionned earlier on for it contains the different mibs that are compiled by default on the HP SIM server. However, you can compile some other vendors mibs in HP SIM as long as they are compliant . See this doc for more info :

Now concerning WebjetAdmin :
There is an level one integration between WJA and HP SIM. This means that from the HP SIM web interface, you will be able to achive two things :
1/launch the WJA home page
2/on a selected printer, launch its WJA property or status page.

The integration is mainly developped to provide a single pane of management to you. Your printers will be discovered and identified by HP SIM. They will be polled but their management should remain the work of WJA. Therefore, from HP SIM you can launch what we call element manager of the printer (WJA here). This is very similar to the System Management Homepage of a server in a way.
