HP SIM 5.2.2 removing power manager

Hiya, i've been looking at upgrading to 5.3, but during the upgrade process it tells me i have an old version of Power manager.
The question is how do i remove Power Manager please.

Re: HP SIM 5.2.2 removing power manager

hi,

On upgrade to 5.3, the Power manager will be removed automatically. To use latest power manager, you will have to install Insight Power Manager 2.0 on 5.3. This will give you all the power manager capabilities

Re: HP SIM 5.2.2 removing power manager

Hiya,
Thanks for your reply, but it doesn't remove the power management modude, its actually telling me to upgrade the snap in with a dialogue box which pops us during the process. You need a contract to use it which we dont have and so need to remove it.
One way I was thinking of downloading the trial version of 2.0 which is what i will have to do if there isn't another way. Or am I missing something?

Re: HP SIM 5.2.2 removing power manager

Hi,
IPM 1.40 which is with SIM 5.2.2 cannot be uninstalled as its an integrated part of HP SIM 5.2.2.
You can upgrade HP SIM to 5.3 without getting impacted with HP SIM functionality. If IPM needs to be cleaned up then you need to have latest IPM which is IPM 2.0 to install on HP SIM 5.3.

Is it not listed in add/remove programs? I am already on IPM 2.0 and it can be removed via Add/Remove Programs.

Re: HP SIM 5.2.2 removing power manager

IPM 2.0 will get listed under Add/remove program but not IPM 1.40.
IPM 1.40 does not have an uninstaller as it depends on HP SIM to get uninstalled.

Re: HP SIM 5.2.2 removing power manager

So it sounds like upgrading to 2.0 and then uninstalling will work.

Re: HP SIM 5.2.2 removing power manager

Using IPM 2.0 and uninstalling as I and Mike said think upgrading should sort it.
