False unreachable alerts SIM 5.3

We are currently getting false unreachable alerts on our SIM server. The alert comes throught but the servers that causing the alert all respond to ping and rdp. I have tried to increase the timeout and retries in the hardware status polling task but the alerts are still coming through. Any ideas.
