HP SIM 5 VCA and other issues
I have deployed to a single server.
However the VCA is showing as not present in CMS.
I have re-run Idetnify System and Software polling to no-avail.
I've re-booted both servers.
Also the link for SMHP is missing from CMS for that server.
Also when you click on properties for either the CMS Server or the other Managed server I get a blank page !!

Re: HP SIM 5 VCA and other issues
Check there's a Trust, and you have the certificate loaded in the Agent. The Agent on the SIM Server needs to contact SIM just like any other agent.
Try restarting all the Agents and then rerun the Identification Task.

Re: HP SIM 5 VCA and other issues
I have the SNMP set as Allow any for the CMS server and the target server with READ/WRITE perms. Trap destination I have put localhost, loopback address and netbios name on the CMS Server and on target I have the netbios name of the CMS as trap destination.
As for cert I have manually imported the cert for the CMS on itself. This is varified by doing a deployment from the Repository on the CMS which I have done.
When on the target server in the Homepage I can go to VCA settings and verify the details for Repository.
I have this working at another site with v4.2 with SP2 and this is my first attempt with v5.
Thanks for your response.
Dave

Re: HP SIM 5 VCA and other issues
But I actually removed HPSIM 4 and installed HPSIM 5. During that process the Certificate changed so I had to reconfigure the agents with the updated certificate.
Check in the new HPSIM you have the same SNMP community names set up as in the SNMP Service, note they are case-sensitive.

Re: HP SIM 5 VCA and other issues
Thanks, I was aware of that and the SNMP names are identical.
This is a clean install not an upgrade.
