HP SIM don't send e-mail on all events
Hi Forum,
we use the HP SIM 5.0 SP5.
We have defined that the SIM should send e-Mails on all critical events.
Now we realise, that the SIM does not send e-Mails on all events.
In case of events of the libary the SIM sends e-Mails, but in case of events on the Servers there is no e-Mail been send.
In case of wrong logins the SIM also does send e-Mails.
The rules for sending e-Mails is been defined in one "Automatic Event Handling - Manage Task".
Anyone an idea?
Thx Thomas

Re: HP SIM don't send e-mail on all events
Not sure what you mean by the library.
Login events are generated by HPSIM itself.
If a device fails or threshold exceeded then the agent picks that up and sends an snmp trap to HPSIM. For this to work the trap destination needs to be set correctly on the server that had the issue, it should point to the HPSIM Server.
Check that events are actually being generated on HPSIM.
You can use the HP Management Agent GUI to send test traps, they should generate a Major Event.
If you set up a task to handle Major Events you can then test that aspect.
