HP SIM not discovering nodes across different subnet
I am trying to discover nodes across a different subnet that does not allow PING. I have set these server to use the SIM server as a trap destination. I have also tried adding the subnet range to auto discovery, but no luck there. I have tried adding a server manually, but it doesn't show all the server info. Is there anything else that I need to configure?

Re: HP SIM not discovering nodes across different subnet
Ping is the protocol used for discovering Servers without it you'll not get much.
It will just get traps from an unregistered devices. And You can configure IM to discover a device based on an unregistered event (it's an option under Auto-Discovery) you could try enabling that and rebooting a Server to see if IM picks it up.

Re: HP SIM not discovering nodes across different subnet
No, SSH has no role in the status communications.
Currently, any discovery or identification operation is preceded by a ping which must be complete before the next step is attempted.
Without revealing too much, the dev team has reacted to requests for this capability posted on this forum and other sources and a future version that will be available real soon will have the ability to work in your environment.
