HP-SIM To send SNMP V2.0 Traps to NETBOSS

Hi there,

Actually we have 10 HP-UX servers managed by the HP-SIM and it is sending email and snmp traps to the selected system. But the NetBoss Managemnet system only accept and undedrstand SNMP V2.0 traps but i checked on my HP-SIM server it is showing HPSIM v1.0 but we need HP-SIM to send traps using snmp v2.0


Please update as soon as possible.

I think HP SIM is just a "reciever". It only recieve SNMP traps of managed client devices. I would suspect you would need to configure your managed clients to sent SNMP traps to both HP SIM and NetBOSS (I don't know what that product is - I have never heard of it before). So that being said, I would think it would be the client that would need to send SNMP V2.0; that is, I don't think SIM has anything to do with it. Unless SIM has some sort of forwarding capability.

Not sure if HP SIM can send V2 traps, but it certainly can send traps to another SNMP monitor. When create an Event handler, instead of choosing email or page, you can select SNMP trap.
