HP SNMP Agents on Citrix XenServer 5.6
I am running XenServer on 2 identical ProLiant DL580 G5's. Each has 16 cores and 64 gigs of ram.
With CMAHOSTD running, every 10-15 seconds the whole system pauses for a few seconds, not even responding to command-line keystrokes, then bounces back. While monitoring the TOP command in linux, CMAHOSTD jumps to 90%+ CPU usage briefly during this freezing. As soon as I disabled CMAHOSTD, the problem went away.
I originally upgraded XenServer on both servers. After having the problem, I rebuilt the server from scratch (no upgrade) and the problem continued.
The older version of the agents (from last year) with xenserver 5.5 worked fine on both servers.
Any ideas? Thanks.
I attached a screenshot of the TOP command.

Re: HP SNMP Agents on Citrix XenServer 5.6
sorry to bother you, but so far I have tried to configure the SNMP agents for a 5.5 pool with no success.
Could you please tell me how you changed the .conf file so it all worked out?
I know you are looking for an answer in here but so far mi understanding of the agents is not good enough to make them work.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: HP SNMP Agents on Citrix XenServer 5.6
2 remove the line #!/bin/sh at the top of the Script
3 sh newname
Voilá there're the RPMs
Now installiert the rpm's in order, as described on my site.
The important thing about that whole stuff...
DO NOT INSTALL THE IPMI RPM FROM HP,
INSTEAD INSTALL OPEN-IPMI out of centos-base repo.
