I have searched these forums, and done what's been suggested in order to get HP SIM and CV EVA communicating. However, after importing the SIM certificate into CV EVA, and seeing the FC switches, tape libraries and the actual management server, I still cannot see the EVAs.
I have restarted the management server, as well as the SIM server, and nothing.
We have 2 management servers, both run Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition. The servers running CV EVA are as follows: 1 at our head office (running Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition...it's a cluster); the other running Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition.
Thanks,
Craig

Re: HP Systems Insight Manager does not see any EVAs
It's the usual: CIMCLIENT_ERR_CONNECTION_FAILED error.
I have the cimserver.exe service started on the SIM server, and the CV EVA server, but I still get the error above...

Same situation at our Head Office where I can see the 2 FC switches, and the MSL6000...but not the EVA6100!

SolutionThe way to make SIM talk to CV (assuming seperate servers).
Test to ensure that Pegasus can see the EVA├в s. Get a cmd prompt on the server with SIM installed upon it.
cd \Program Files\HP\Systems Insight Manager
Run the ├в wbemdisco├в , set the port number to 5989. Use the CV login details
From SIM select
├в Options, Protocol Settings, WMI Mapper├в . There should be reference to the Command View server installed. If not, manually add it. Then run a Discovery.
Hope this helps
Cheers
Anthony
