NEW to HPSIM
I've been given the tasks of getting HPSIM working in our DMZ across various platforms.
As it currently was not working I decided to upgrade from IM7 SP2.3 to HPSIM 5.
Now I'm trying to understand what needs to be configured on all servers/mp to get the communication working.
Do all systems require the PSP agents installed on them and SNMP configured or will it work through WBEM/WMI alone ?
All MPs require firmware updates..does this mean a reboot of the host server?
All suggestions welcomed,
Graham.

Solution
It is always better that you run the PSP on all the servers and have SNMP configured on them. They help you manage your servers and MP better. WBEM/WMI will help manage the *servers* (and only to certain extent)running Windows and HPUX. And note that you cannot manage/monitor your MP that well when you use WBEM/WMI.
And yes when you do a firmware upgrade, you'll have to reboot your server.
