HPsim agent ver 7.0 version controlagent

In old versions of version controlagent the user is predifined to "Administrator", "Operator" or User. Where do i configure the password for this users in HP system insight manager 5.0 and repository? Or is old agents not supported?

Re: HPsim agent ver 7.0 version controlagent

On a system where VCRM(Repository) is installed, create an new Operating System account called "operator" with password and add him to any of the groups in the OS. (example: "smhoperator")
Add this "smhoperator" group to Operator access level in the System Management Homepage(Settings->system management homepage->security->user groups)

Now Configure 7.0 VCA to point to the above VCRM with "operator" account with the OS password given to the 'operator' account on VCRM system.

Hope this helps.

No it did not help the old agents does not use Operating system accounts, they use some kind of http login to version control repository. The easiest way would be to upgrade all old agent but it is about 300 servers and it is planed later next year.

What Anantha is suggesting is to *not* change the VC Agents that use the old Administrator/Operator users. You leave those credentials the same. You said you have HPSIM 5.0/VCRM intsalled which means it probably is using the newer OS based credentials on the VCRM. If this is the case then follow Anantha's suggestion and it should work for you.

You just set the systems using the old VC Agents to use Operator and a password to login to the VCRM. On the VCRM side you create an OS account called Operator with the proper password. You will need to place that ID in a group that the System Management Homepage understands to have Administrator or Operator authority for the SMH (not OS). Then everything should work. If you have a large number of systems that you do not want to have to manually change the VC Agent settings on it can be done by using the HPSIM replicate agent settings option.

This document here talks about different methods to get this working - I believe it is in Chapter 2:
