We're in the process of setting up HPSIM 4.2 to monitor about 13 servers, and occassionally it will "lose" sight of them and report 13 Critical Errors. The servers are clearly still online, and a manual Diagnose->Ping returns OK, and the individual servers' web interfaces are accessible, but it's usually a few minutes before HPSIM finds them again and resets the status to OK.
Is this likely to be a configuration issue, and has anyone else had this? Ultimately, the management server will be left alone and set to send SMS or e-mail or execute a script if something's wrong, so naturally we don't want any false alarms.
Any thoughts?
Cheers.

Solution
I had that problem here. I went into Options->Protocol Settings->Global Protocol Settings and changed the default timeout from 4 to 60 seconds and the retries from 1 to 5 in both ping and snmp settings. I noticed that i haven't been getting false positives since then.
Cheers
