Re: ILO Firmware updating to v1.89, except it isn't
I come here for help, when/if I get it I will allocate points accordingly.
I will try manually installing the ILO software, as per your suggestion.

Re: ILO Firmware updating to v1.89, except it isn't
Any how...you will be more able to get info ,in you problem when you try it manualy..when we deploy, some time you dont get everything in the log of VCA, manualy you sometimes get more info.Deployment thta is done with HP SIM or directly with VCA on the server will not tell all, some time it does and some times is doesn't.

Re: ILO Firmware updating to v1.89, except it isn't
It's not a major problem as we dont actually use the ILO in these servers, (they are about 5m away from where I'm sitting) but I like to have green circles in my SIM columns as it makes it easier to spot problems.

Re: ILO Firmware updating to v1.89, except it isn't
I also had a terrible time getting Sims to recognize that this software was up to date. Unfortunately, I tried many different things to fix this.
I installed the iLO update through SIMS on some, but in most cases, directly on the board. Sometimes I had to run a software poll to get the update to show up. Other times, I restared the VCA on the server and then it wouul work.
When you are checking in SIMS software report, for the Installed Version, does it "think" it has a Japanese version of the iLO software installed?

SolutionMaybe the management processor has been moved to inactive in the HP management agents on the servers themselves. I do this when we don't use the iLO so I don't get connection errors in SIMS. However, I found that for the firmware update to work in this particular case, and show in the VCA I had to:
1. Put the management processor back in the active agents (on the server itself)
2. Install the 1.89 software.
3. run a software poll on the server
At this point my software in the VCA was finally correct. Then I moved the mp back to the inactive agents column.

Re: ILO Firmware updating to v1.89, except it isn't
You are an absolute star!!!
I had the remote support agent deactivated as in your scenario, I re-activated it and BINGO, VCR is showing it as having up to date firmware!
10 out of 10
And 10 points on their way to you!
