Imaging servers with RDP - SIM sees Imaged Servers under one entry
Scenario:
Purchased 8 Servers - All Identical
Using RDP, I built out one server with smartstart 7.20 and put Windows 2003 SP1 - then upgraded to SmartStart 7.30. Using RDP I took an image of that one server and then deployed to the other 7.
Wonderful - totally recommend anyone trying out RDP - it saves allot of time and especially when you have to build out a number of servers the same.
Anyhow getting of the point a little - when I try to add the servers to SIM (either manually or Automatically) only one server appears - but with the IP addresses of the rest of the servers. I have deleted the one server and tried to add the others by IP address, Server name - and I still end up with 1 server entry but it thinks it owns all of the IP's associated with the other servers. How can I fix this?

Re: Imaging servers with RDP - SIM sees Imaged Servers under one entry
Found the fix - Delete the following
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Compaq Insight Agent
"hostGUID"
and restart agents.
Reason being is that it took the GUID from the server that was the master image.
All working now
