Insight Event Notifier not starting
We have the new Insight Agents 7.30A installed and have problems with the event notifier service to start on windows 2000 servers. Following message appears:
Windows could not start the HP Insight Event notifier on local computer. If this is a non-Microsoft service, contact the servive ventor, and refer to service-specific error code 1.
I've found this in the eventlog:
The description for Event ID ( 1 ) in Source ( CimNotify ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. The following information is part of the event: The event log file is corrupt..

Re: Insight Event Notifier not starting
I have had this problem and found that if the Event Notifier starts up last you do not have this problem. You should set the Event Notifier to start after the Spooler Service. You should be able to find the article on Microsoft's site to set the service dependencies.
