CIM32 sending bad SNMP sets?
Yes, I know CIM32 is not supported, but management likes the user interface (red light, green light) and is not willing to part with it.
We also have SIM 4.2.
We are observing that after some period of a few days (we haven't narrowed it down yet) that the SNMP settings are change from accept SNMP from "all hosts" to 127.0.0.1 and 0.
Very strange that somethins would be setting an entry of "0".
In any case this is undesireable because it prevents NNM and our UPS software from communicating with the node. No Group Policy settings are being enforced.
Also noticed on some nodes that CIM32 seems to send false status messages to the home page of some servers.
Are we imagining all this or is it possible that CIM32 (being so old and unsupported) is sending malformed SNMP sets that are setting the SMNP "allowed hosts" setting and other false alarms on the hosts?
