Insight Power Manager not communicating
I have licensed (demo version) IPM on two of my c-class blades. On one of these server's pages in SIM, the IPM subcategory on the main page will open, but there's no data collected, and under Analysis the "Latest Data Collection Status" reads:
"Unable to communicate with Management Processor 10.132.128.204 in server mvipacitrix00 . Please ensure that Management Processor is accessible."
The management processor *is* accessible, at least through the other methods of getting there (there's a green checkmark next to Management Processor Status).
I'm assuming it's a configuration issue, but I can't figure out where. The server is completely patched through VCRM.
The HP PMA line for this system says "Discovery Pending." Does that have something to do with this?
Any ideas?

Re: Insight Power Manager not communicating
You can see this message in the following cases
a) In case you have not collected iLO license keys into SIM via SIM License Manager GUI and directly invoked IPM to gather power data, In this case IPM will try to connect to ILO to gather license information , during this time if ILO does not respond then you can see this message.
b) Assuming the licensing information is already gathered by SIM Licensen Manager or by IPM and now when you click Refresh Data , IPM will try to communicate with ILO to get power/thermal data and if ILO does not respond then you can see this message.
You can try the following
a) Try to ping the ILO from CMS server
b) Fire any RIBCL command against the iLO using CPQCLOFG utility.
If any of above fails then you should check the network connectivity to ILO
c) In case iLO was trying to reset at the time IPM was communicating with iLO to get POwer/thermal data so just try clicking Refresh Data again.
d) The iLO Web Server SSL Port does not match with the one IPM [Options-> Insight Power Manager page]
IPM will communicate with all iLO @ a specific WEB SSL port which can be configured @ Options-> Insight Power Manager page and the port number here might not be matching with the iLO is configured. Check if iLO Web SSL port and IPM Options-> Insight POwer manager page are same.
Hope this helps.
Thanks
Deepak
