What should I do, What option do I have?
Thanks.

Re: IP address ranges
Imho you can go on with what you intended and just ignore the warning, if you are certain that no problems arise from pinging more than 5000 systems. Alternatively you can try to define the IP-ranges more precisely, i.e. splitting it up into several ip ranges. Third, a method that I recommend over the previous ones, don't use automatic system detection at all. Simply generate one or more hosts files, by which you import lists of knows hosts.

Re: IP address ranges
I have tried the 3rd option previously without success. Would appreciate if you could give me a step-by-step guide. Many thanks.

Solution1. Create a hosts file (simply a list of IP adresses and servernames):
# this is a comment
172.211.196.44 BLNSR00086
172.128.127.99 FIESR01000
...
For later identification it's recommendable to add a comment on top of the list.
2. Click on Options - Discorery - Manual Discovery and select the link host files there
3. Click "New", choose an arbitrary hosts file name (for display in the list), check the initialization option "Systems loaded from hosts file" and Browse... for the file created in (1.). The file content will be pasted into the "Contents" area below.
4. Click OK, so that the hosts file name will appear in the list on top of the page.
5. Select the file entry in the list and click "Add Systems Now".
That should do it.

Re: IP address ranges
Also note that it is a WARNING, not an ERROR. It is just telling you that it may take an excessive amount of time to complete, but it does work.
