Is WBEM only for Unix and Linux?

Is WBEM only for Unix and Linux? We only monitor Windows systems in my group, so if WBEM is only for Unix/Linux then would it save time on Tasks to disable/not try to query using WBEM?

Re: Is WBEM only for Unix and Linux?

Darren, did you mean WBEM or WMI?
Windows doesn't have WBEM, only WMI.
WMI is different from WBEM, it is Microsoft impelementation of WBEM.
WBEM used only for Unix/Linix. Even for Linux/Unix you have no reason to use WBEM if you have Proliant system with Insight agents.
You can disable WBEM if you monitor only Windows systems.
