Keeps getting "Discovered System" in SIM

Hi, I keep getting "Discovered System" message on one server that totally no problem at all. We have rebooted the server, deleted it from SIM, refreshed SNMP, but it still appeared. Normally this message only appears once and after sometime it will be cleared, but for this server, it didn't disappear at all. Can anyone advice what should I do to get rid of it, thanks.

Is this Server in the Discovery Range?
In which case it will be rediscovered each time the Discovery task is run.

You could add the IP address to the discovery exclusion list.

Hi,

If you want this system to be seen by you SIM a good option to prevent it from discovered again is to go to OPTIONS->SYTEM PROPERTIES->EDIT SYSTEM PROPERTIES and do the necessary changes and then select lock system from being changed by discovery or identification.

Are you running SIM 5? In your SIM console, OPTIONS is found in the right pane of console. It is if I guess right the second last choice on the left. The last being HELP.
Another way to access SYSTEM PROPERTIES for a "SYSTEM" is also by clicking on the particular system and choosing the TOOLS&LINK tab.
Take a look at the attachment, sorry it is of version 4.2, but its still found in the same place in SIM 5.

Perhaps I missed the point of the question.
Is this a Server you want to monitor?

You should only get a Discovered System when the device is first discovered.
This devices doesn't have DHCP does it? In which case the device would be "rediscovered" whenever the IP address changed.

If the device is added to the exclusion list and then deleted from HPSIM, it will no longer appear in any HPSIM displays.
This is useful if you have a few devices in a large discovery range that you do not want displayed.

hi rob, its a server with fixed IP, the strange thing is that the "Discovered System" keeps poping out and cannot clear away
