Linking Several Systems Insight Manager servers
Is it posible to make a master SIM Server and collect data from Slave SIM Servers in other sites?
Eks:
- 3 sites
- The sites are connected via VPN.
- The SIM server in every site is collecting data from local servers
- The Master SIM collects data from every sites local SIM server.
Is this posible?
Regards

Re: Linking Several Systems Insight Manager servers
But also monitoring if it can be done
Here is what I want:
Eks:
If an event occurs on a server in site1, I want SIM server in site1 to get notified. But I also want the Master SIM in my Site0 to be notified....not by the server(in site1) itself, but by SIM server in site1.
If this works, I want to connect to site2 and then site3..osv, osv.
The reason for this is if the internet connection at site1 goes down, I have no way of knowing if the servers in site1 also is affected. But if I have a local SIM server at site1...I can log inn to that server when the connection is restored and see that the servers in site1 did not have any downtime.
And Better....get SIM server in site1 to send all data to my SIM server at the Master site when the internet connection is up again.
The sites are connected via VPN over Internett. And therefore bandwith can vary. Generally it is abow 2MB.

We are facing the same situation for different firewall issues.

Re: Linking Several Systems Insight Manager servers
This is just for test so I only have one server registered at each site.
The SIM`s at my slave sites are sending traps to my Master SIM, but I do not know how to view/see them...I have looked inn the user guide but I can not find any info on this. And ofcourse I have looked in the GUI to see if there is a setting that can be turned on
Is there a special way to configure this senario??
