Memory Leak in HPSIM 4.2 ?

I have just installed version 4.2 after uninstalling 4.1 as I felt the older version of CIM 7 had far better usability, only to find that now on my DL360 with 512MB and dual 800Mhz processors, it is hammering it. When it has finished maxing out my processors it shows up in Task Manager that I have more memory used than actually showing up for all processes. As time goes by this number increases and the only process that looks remotely like the culpret is the mxdomainmgr.exe

I have attached the task manager screen print from my server.

What is going on here ? is anyone else getting this problem ?

And this is taken just 16 minutes later showing even higher amounts of memory and but nothing adding up.

What I did notice over this time period as mxdomainmgr.exe was working away, it was getting larger and then dropping down but the total amount of memory used stays close to where it last left it.

You're seriously underpowered. The HP SIM QuickSpec cites minimum 768MB memory with 1GB recommended. If you have additionally installed the Vulnerability and Patch Manager the memory consumption will even be higher. Minimum processor recommended is 1.5GHz (dual 800MHz does not equate to 1.6GHz) with 2.4GHz or above recommended.

Just so you know, we're not trying to force you to use a brand new server: the DL360G2 1.4GHz came out more than 2 years ago.

But surely a package that is taking up memory should clearly state how much it is taking and if it releases it should properly release it?

What is the explanation for the high amount of memory consumption when the package is only showing it is taking up 100 or so MB ?

The figures just don't add up.

Re: Memory Leak in HPSIM 4.2 ?

Well, I'm running it on a 1.4Ghz DL380G2, with 1Gb of memory. Can I get this monster to server anything up ? Nope. Memory and processor are totally maxed out. Ok, I've got another Processor I can whack in. Will it make a difference ? I'm not so sure.

So its of to my Manager and explain how the latest version = Buy a New SIM Server. Ta very much !
