Missing event columns after upgrade to SIM 5
Hello,
After upgrading to SIM 5, several event views have no columns except the device name column and the select check box column. For example, if a pick a device, click the events tab, that is the view I see. And there is no customize link/button to add or remove the columns that are missing.
So basically I have no idea what the events are (there is no date, description or the ability to view the event to see the details).
Anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks
Nelson

Re: Missing event columns after upgrade to SIM 5
Hi Nelson,
Several people (myself included) have seen this happen; however, in my installation it is a sporadic problem which is usually solved by refreshing or going to another list.
In SIM 5 there is no longer client-side Java; all the Java is handled by the server and this seems to be the cause of this problem.
If your problem is persistent, rather than sporadic, you will probably want to open a ticket with HP Support.
Good luck,
- Steve

Re: Missing event columns after upgrade to SIM 5
Hi Steve,
Thanks for the response. I have found this issue to happen quite frequently. What I have found is that if I assign someone to the event, it will then show all the columns if I refresh the view.
So what I did is just create a scheduled job to assign me to all events as they come in.
Thanks
Nelson

Re: Missing event columns after upgrade to SIM 5
On a side note - I thought that the removing of the Java client requirement would be a blessing. But now I am really starting to miss it. It is much slower without it and I miss some of the features like resizing the columns.
