Monitor Disk / Filesystem Threshold without HP Agents
Hi All!
Im trying to monitor the disk and / or filesystem threshold on our linux vmware-esx-virtual-maschine-guests. Because they are not real hp-hardware there are no hp-agents installed.
Does anyone know an opportunity to check from the hp-sim if a threshold on a vm is greater than for example 70&% and if true create an event?
Thanks
Michael

Re: Monitor Disk / Filesystem Threshold without HP Agents
Alas, no and this is one of the things you lose.
I use wbem to collect data from the virtual guests and then run a weekly report that extracts the data directly from the HPSIM Database.
That's complicated by the fact that HPSIM wbem doesn't record the %used correctly it is always 100%.
It would be nice if VMM offered this functionality, it does for CPU Usage. But I've got VMM disabled at the moment because of what seems to be a conflict between VMM and VMotion. That has not been verified as yet.

Re: Monitor Disk / Filesystem Threshold without HP Agents
You can use virtuall center to set a threashold on windows vms. then you can send a trap if the threashols is reached! not sure if it is working for linux, but test it. rms
