Monitoring Microsoft Cluster

Hi,

I have a Microsoft cluster running on prolian dl380s. I can see the nodes in insight . But it will not recognise the cluster. Any ideas or links to documents would be greatly welcome.

Thanx,
Chad

Re: Monitoring Microsoft Cluster

Make sure that the Clustering Information Agent is Active and run a automatic discovery using the cluster ip address and the nodes ip addresses.

Re: Monitoring Microsoft Cluster

As mentioned, goto ControlPanel -> HP Management Agents, Services Tab, and add Clustering Information.

Re: Monitoring Microsoft Cluster

Thanx for the answers. I hav checked teh control panel and the cluster infromation is in the active pane on the services tab for the agents on boht nodes.

I checked the auto dicovery setting and the iP addresses of both nodes and the cluster virtual IP are with in that range.

However I still can not see it. I see th nodes and can access them. When I try to add the cluster IP address manually it states that it already exists in the database. But I can't find it.

I believe the cluster information service on the nodes is operating as I do get events listing information from the cluster (ie cluster node failed when I shutdown one of the nodes)

Is there something else I can try or another place I can look in for a setting to change.

Re: Monitoring Microsoft Cluster

Have you tried to run a Options -> Discovery -> Identify Systems?

I just ran it. It completed with no errors but I can not find the system by name or IP in the list of targets.

Re: Monitoring Microsoft Cluster

You might try deleting both cluster nodes and then do another discovery. During the discovery you should specify the IP addresses of both cluster nodes AND the cluster IP resources.
