Move existing HP SIM 6.3 installation to new server.

Hi!

How do I migrate/move an existing HP SIM installation to a new server?

I found a whitepaper describing this for HP SIM 5.3 , but I can't find it for 6.3 (which is the version I have instelled).

All I want to do is to move the SIM installation to a new server.

The database is already configured on a remote SQL-server.

You could use the data migration tool to export the DB and re-import on the new installation. I don't think you can simply export the DB and attcach it to the other installation as the server names etc. will not match.

I want to do the same thing as well but couldn't find any documentation. I want to have the new hpsim version 7 when it comes out. I have the current latest and greatest version 6.3 with hotfix on a wondows 2008r2 box on a bl 460c g7. Can I just install the new version on top of my current version and will it all mesh together and see my sql database. My sql for sim is also on a remote server.

Now i'm guessing this is a whole different story if I want to have a a whole new installation on a whole new separate server and point it to the my remote sql database.

Wish there was a document for both the procedures.
