Re: Newbie with HP SIM
If you've goy HP Proliants you might have built them with Smart Start in which case they'll have the Agents already.
There's a lot of documentation on the Web site. I'd advise downloading that and get an understanding of the product.

Re: Newbie with HP SIM
On my CMS there's SIM 4.1, OpenSSH, MSDE (the standalone SQL DB engine) and a Version Control Repository Manager.
OpenSSh should be available at install-time with SIM on the CMS. If not, you can browse the CD and install it from there.

Re: Newbie with HP SIM
I've used the following if starting from scratch.
Download the latest Softpaq, 7.10.
Run Setup.exe and bring up the RDU Screen.
Configure the Agents from the screen. You can enter passwords, set the Trust, cut and paste the Certifcate from the HPSIM Server into the appropriate field.
When done, Select a Server and Install the entire Softpaq to the Server.
Check that this now meets your requirements.
Note that these Softpaqs form the basis of your Version Control Repository, which can also be managed from HPSIM. So, you might want to start out with a suitable directory structure. I have a top level dir (e.g. VCRM) and below that directories for each Softpaq as well as a non-softpaq directory for online ROM Upgrades etc.
