PB with HPSIM agents on bl 465 with Solaris

I have installed the agents on the server but I can't get any information in the SMH ...I have 2 snmp daemons running, one is the os master agent (snmpdx) and the other is started with the sma package (snmpd)
I have checked both daemons conf files, and I can even snmpwalk the server from another server, but only on the mib2 branch and not the private.enterprise

I'm pretty sure this is a snmp configuration & communication problem but I can't find what's wrong.
The doc does not event state if snmpdx is needed.

If someone has already successfully installed and set up HP SMA package on Solaris, please help!!!

Thanks

Re: PB with HPSIM agents on bl 465 with Solaris

If your running with Solaris 10 6/06 or beyond, there is an issue with the 64-bit version of the SNMP master agent that ships with Solaris. The 64-bit version will need to be turned off and the 32-bit version started instead.

This issue and the workaround are documented in the HP ProLiant Deployment Guide for Solaris, pages 33-34.
The deployment guide can be found here:
ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/products/servers/software/solaris/455522-001.pdf

The issue and workaround are also documented in the RELEASENOTES.HPQhma and the INSTALLNOTES.HPQhma file that is included in the distribution tarball for the Agents.

If your not using the 6/06 release (or beyond), what release of Solaris are you using, and what versions of HP software?

Re: PB with HPSIM agents on bl 465 with Solaris

Ok It now works but there are still strange things:
- there are no agents listed under "integrated agents" in the smh
- there is no menu in settings tab to access snmp conf

It seems to me that the snmp conf file driving the rights is the etc/sma/snmp/snmpd.conf, but I don't understand who does what between the subagent and the master snmpdx...

Also will there be a VCA for solaris soon?

Thanks for the answers
