PLEASE! Experiencing trouble with the "configure agents.." tool
Hi,
Just tried to add 30+ WINDOWS servers to my SIM 5.2. On the majority of them I get the following error:
"Configuration of agents started, waiting for it to be completed.
Configure Agents and Providers (START) ...
Windows configuration command (START)...
HP Systems Insight Manager was unable to connect to the target, The target opera
ting system may not be supported.
Running the Windows based repair tool (DONE).......................... [ERROR]
Additional details above."
All of them are windows servers. I installed the HP SIM without SSH, still I added the domain admin user for this domain to SSH_bypass_user, I ran "Idenifiy". Also 4 servers went through in same subnets so it is very unlikely to be firewall related. The agents installed on these servers vary, but that should not be the cause for this right?
Could perhaps somebody provide a prerequsit list for this tool to work, or other troubleshooting tips? Should the list have these following remarks in it?:
- SNMP running on node
- SNMP TRAP running on node
- Remote Registry
- Allow incoming traps from CMS
- Trap destination CMS ( can be set in tool)
In any case all those fit my systems, so there are most likely others.
I also get the following error message:
"Configure Agents and Providers (START) ..."
Then it just stops there.
By the way, can it be SSH related? Is there a way to check what user is actually being used? If the user your are logged in to CMS with is in the ssh_bypass_user list, is that user automatically used?
Help on troubleshooting this would be highly appreciated!
