PMP for ESX 3.5
I cannot get PMP to do an Online or Offline monitor of my two ESX 3.5 servers. They are licensed and in PMP Config it says they are being monitored but when I go to open the Online page it says
unable to retrieve the required information from the server. PMP attempts to retrieve the required information at least twice before reporting the critical status
I spent 2 hrs on the phone with support and they haven't got a clue..

Re: PMP for ESX 3.5
I am now being told that in order to have PMP monitor an ESX box that VMM must applied.
Can anyone confirm that?
I am not looking to manage the guests on the host. I just want to monitor the Hardware and apply PMP to the ESX host as I would a windows server.
Do I need to apply VMM to the ESX box to do so?

Re: PMP for ESX 3.5
VMM and the VMM agent deployed on an ESX server has always been the requirement for PMP management of ESX. This has not changed. In order to understand the performance of a virtual host, you can't get all you need from OS counters in the special virtual machine called the Service Console; ESX APIs have to be accessed and the interface layer to that for PMP is through VMM.
The only way to buy PMP is through Insight Control, and that includes VMM.
