Problem displaying both nodes of CL380 cluter server
I have 3 Proliant LC380 cluster in a box servers that are having the same issue with HP SIM 4.1.
HP SIM will display the cluster(name type)and only 1 of the 2 nodes. The displayed node will list the IP address of both of the nodes in the cluster.
If I manually add the other node then the previously displayed node no longer appears. The displayed node list the IP address of both of the nodes in the cluster.
If I view the cluster itself then the left side pane shows only the 1 node that gets listed. When I hi-lite the cluster and select the node tab on the right side then both nodes are listed with their respective IP addresses.
I found a previous forum message that list a similar issue with duplicate GUID's but the Insight Agent hostGUID is currently generated from the unit serial number which is identical on both nodes in a CL380 server.
Any ideas?

Re: Problem displaying both nodes of CL380 cluter server
Found my own answer. HP SIM uses the unit serial number as a unique identifier. Since both nodes have the same serial number, only one node would be displayed in the HP SIM interface. An addition of "N1" or "N2" at the end of the unit serial number in the system configuration fixed my issue.
I would have hoped that one of the HP employees that monitor this group could have help on this. Instead I had to stumble through and find my own answers. Guess that's what we all get for using "freeware"!
