process monitor

Hi,
I'm trying to monitor some processes on Windows 2003 using HP SIM. I set up the processes I need in the HP Management Agents control panel (the process monitor tab). I then stopped the process and didn't get any notification, and there is nothing in the event log. I tried the test simulated alarm trap and got it. Where do I go from here to troubleshoot this?
