Remote Support Pack A.05.20 delayed from 26 Jan 2009

"The HP Remote Support Pack (RSP) A.05.20 release has been designed to simultaneously release and install with HP Systems Insight Manager (HP SIM) 5.3, which was released on January 26th, 2009.

"However, the discovery of a defect in pre-release testing has caused HP to delay and split the HP Remote Support Pack (RSP) A.05.20 into two staggered releases based on if you are installing from new or if you are upgrading from a previous RSP release without upgrading to HP SIM 5.3."

So can i install 5.3 without RSSM option and then do a re-install on the 6th/whenever do you think ?

Had a heck of a time ourselves -- RSP attempted to install SQLExpress on a bona fide SQL Server and the system was having none of it. Could not get it to install at all and had to revert to the pre-5.3 tools.

I hope the issue is related. :)

Just out of interest does this prevent you from running the Initialize Remote Support Software Manager from the Start Menu?

Getting the 'Failed to connect to HP support center" error.

Or do i have proxy/firewall issues?

Any ETA on the new version?

Interestingly, it seems every time I'm logged on to the SIM server locally, I see this thing reinstalling itself...
stopping DESTA Service.. starting it...

I'm not sure why it keeps doing it. Any way to check?

I beleive it is already released.. my packages all pulled down yesterday in Remote Support Software Manager.

I was also getting the same error when trying to initialize RSSWM.

"Getting the 'Failed to connect to HP support center" error."

I downloaded the new version of 5.3 with the update A.05.20 RSSWM and ran the RSSwM setup and it's now connecting correctly and installing.

Where do i get the new A.05.20 RSSWM only?

Currently still getting the Failed to Connect to HP Support center error when i run Initialize Remote Support Software Manager.

Well i now have a CW status column, which is a start.

however all still filled with ?

If i do a CW status collection every single servers comes back as failed.

I installed 5.3 - including RSSWM components on Friday (02/06/09) and the install failed on the "Remote Support Configuration Collector". I tried to initialize RSSWM again this morning - hoping it would re-download that component, if it truly did fail initially - but it still fails with the error below.
Details ' Remote Support Configuration Collector (RSCC) A.05.20.16.026' installation failed due to the following error:
An exception was thrown when installing the service CM_GL_RSCC-CMS_WIN
Don't know if I should remove all RSSWM components and try again?

Would be nice if someone from HP would answer instead of us all running round like headless chickens guessing what to do next with our problems with RSSM and 5.3

It's not like we pay them millions of pounds per year for the hardware.

I have same problem with RSCC (and RSCCE). Install fails from RSSWM. Log says it can't upgrade version A.05.16, you have to use RSCC A.05.30 to update !!!

If you have trouble with RSCC and are running HPSIM/RSP on Windows 2008, make sure UAC is disabled. That was the only way I could get it to install correctly.

Funny thing was, that when I upraged the SIM to 5.3 from 5.2.2 It installed RSP components version A.05.16

When A.05.20 was released I reinstalled the RSSWM and it downloaded the new packages but install failed with RSCC and RSCCE. Error in the log says that use A.05.30 to upgrade from A.05.16.
