Remove Notification of removed hardware
Recently we removed some tape libraries from several Novell units in an upgrade scheme we are reporting. However Insight reports these libraries and the associated SCSI channels as in a failed status. My question is, short of reinstalling the agents, is there a way to simply disable this SCSI port from being statused all together? I know it can be done on windows based systems fairly straight forward, but need to know a way to do it on the Novell side.

Re: Remove Notification of removed hardware
Michael,
Maybe a silly question...but...
Have you tried restarting the Novell servers after disconnecting the libraries?
In Windows, I know, that if you do not actually shut down and restart a server, the Agents still report the tape drive as "offline". For example, in our field offices, we have tapes get stuck in our DLT drives, and the office admins there will shut down and disconnect the drive to send back to us for repair before we can shut the server down remotely. So even though the drive is gone, the HP agent thinks it is still there, but offline and reports an error. Once we shut down and power on the server, the error goes away because it no longer detects the drive at POST.
Let me know.

Re: Remove Notification of removed hardware
I will have to ask our Novell administrators this one. But seeing as how it isFriday we shoulod be able to invoke a couple of reboots this evening and should soon know.
