Reporting FQDN from VMWARE ESX 2.5

When using HPSIM on Windows we receive the IP for a vmware box rather than the IP. The /etc/hosts and /etc/sysconfig/network files are configured with the FQDN. This appears to be for Linux in General or more particularly RH 7.0 which we are also running. Any Suggestions?

CORRECTION
" When using HPSIM on Windows we receive the IP for a vmware box rather than the IP. "
The 2nd IP is meant to be FQDN

I guess the appropriate question would have been "Where does IM look for the FQDN rather than the IP on a Linux based machine" Is it purely DNS?

If you mean in the System Name on tyhe HPSIM Display, then yes typically that is from the DNS unless you've used a local host file within HPSIM.
Also, it needs both forward and reverse lookups before a name will be displayed rather than the IP address.

My ESX Server is listed by its Host Name, I manually added it into our AD based DNS.
