Server hardware status polling takes 50 min.

If this happens every 5 minutes by default, why does it take almost an hour to complete? I am not confident that I will get prompt pages when a server goes down.

The default polling task uses a number of protocols. Maybe one is getting hung up. You could try setting up different Hardware Polling tasks using just one protocol and see which one is causing problems.

Re: Server hardware status polling takes 50 min.

I have tried taking all protocols out of the server status polling task except for ping and now it appears that the polling is only taking 20 min. It appears to hang at 95% for some reason. Any other suggestions?

TIA

Only to reduce your Discovery ranges until you isolate the devices that are taking so long.

Or do some manual pings to try and isolate the issue.

How many devices are you monitoring?

It shouldn't take that long, my Ping polling task for around 150 devices has a duration of 1 second!

Re: Server hardware status polling takes 50 min.

I am monitoring about 125 devices. After removing some devices, the delay is almost gone. There appears to be some filtering that might be interfering. Thanks for the suggestions.
