Hi
I have a number of server rooms in my environment and would like to start temperature and humidity monitoring.
Is anybody aware if HP has a device that will monitor both temperature and humidity and which will nicely integrate with HP SIM?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers
Vjeko

Solution
Vjeko,
ProLiant servers have thermal sensors that can send an alert when they exceed internal temperatures and these alerts will be sent to the SIM console via SNMP.
If you're speaking about external temperature/humidity; many of the UPS's available have options for adding an environmental monitoring card that has a network interface and can report when thresholds have been exceeded via SNMP to the SIM console. APC has a SmartSlot Card that does this:

There are also dedicated environmental monitoring devices such as APC's NetBotz or WrightLine's EM Series (see below) and while there are probably other devices that do this; I don't know how well or if they integrate with SIM.

Re: Server Room / Data Centre temp monitoring
Thanks mate
The APC stuff looks good and I'll be purchasing few of them, that's sure.
Cheers
