SIM 4.2 - Cluster Monitor

I instaleld the SIM 4.2 Version and found some problems when trying to monitor a W2k3-cluster.

First, there are a lot of threats about, how to monitore and implement a cluster in SIM.
I had installed the cluster agents on both nodes, snmp is configured, when I discover automatically (IP-Range for the cluster is configured) the SIM only find the nodes not the "virtual" cluster. The active node is getting the cluster-IP and his own IP and all other IPs from avtive resources.

Cluster Monitor is not working! When I push the button for the active server the cluster monitor screen is loading, loading and loading, nothing happens more...

Under Options, Cluster Monitor Settings, my cluster is not displayed, so I can

Re: SIM 4.2 - Cluster Monitor

Hi Andreas,

You mentioned that you installed the cluster agents, but did you enable them? To do this:

1) Open Control Panel on each node in the cluster
2) Run the "HP Managment Agents" applet found in Control Panel
3) Along the right side select the "Clustering Information" inactive agent and click the "Add" button to move to the Active agents.
4) Click OK and allow the agents to restart
5) Remove all cluster nodes and virtual server from SIM and re-add them to allow them to discover the relationship with the cluster. Add the cluster virtual server last

This process has always worked for me.

Re: SIM 4.2 - Cluster Monitor

Hi Nelson,

yes, cluster agent is active on both nodes.
What does it mean "allow them to discover the relationship with the cluster"?

Do you see anything in cluster monitor, i.e. the nodes or resources, when cluster is discoverd?
