SIM 4.2 on a DC username and password?
I have installed SIM 4.2 on to a DC to control the servers in the domain the other servers i have managed to install the SIM Agents and configured them to with this DC running SIM.
My problem is, i have just installed the insight manager agent on the same server running SIM to setup the Trust and config the settings, but do not know what to login as. All other servers used local accounts, this server being the DC has no local acccounts. I have tried admin accounts for the domain but these do not work. how can i actually login to the Systems management homepage on a DC???
Thanks

Re: SIM 4.2 on a DC username and password?
System Management Homepage does support Active Directory authentication.
For the Server with AD installed, there won't be Local users and groups. So to login to System Management homepage, you need to specify the Domain Administrator name "mydomain\administrator" in the username field instead of only "administrator". After successful login, goto the usergroups page, specify the group name as "mydomain\mygroup" and save configuration. After this any user in the group "mygroup" will be able to access the homepage.
Similarly for the second server, if you want to use domain users, You should prefix the username or group name with the domain name. Hope this solves the problem.
Cheers,
Hari
