Upgrade SIM 4.1 to 4.2 problem
Hello,
we want to upgrade SIM 4.1 to SIM 4.2 and when we start the installation it says it cannot connect to the database server.
The database is a local installation of MSDE 2000. There are two databases in this MSDE. Some things we've tried:
change authentication method to mixed (registry)
osql with installation account works
osql with sa account works
install as domain admin
SIM 4.1 works perfectly...
can someone help me out please?
thanks
Wout

Re: Upgrade SIM 4.1 to 4.2 problem
Thanks for the information.
We have tried this and still get the same error.
Could it be an error with the RDP software from HP which is on the same server and uses the same MSDE?

Re: Upgrade SIM 4.1 to 4.2 problem
There are some other threads on the subject with various things people did to succeed (and a few folks that tried and tried and gave up and rebuilt from scratch).
Search this forum and you'll see the others.
I had tried all other suggestions and was about to do a rebuild when I came upon the MDAC problem discovery...
Good luck!
