I am using CVEVA 6.0.2 on a server managing 2 evas
Have loaded smis-eva and cimom
set up a local user (evasmis)
added to Hp Storage Admins local group
added as a cimuser
On SIM server, set server specific (to the CVEVA server) WBEM credentials matching above user
Using WBEMDISCO, I now get success from the SIM server, but still no array after discovery
Ideas?

Re: SIM 5.1 SP1 and monitoring EVA's - CVEVA 6.0.2 and SMIS-EVA
The System identify has this statement:
"This system does not have any SMI-S CIMOM installed"
I have installed and confirmed that SMI-S EVA is installed (I installed it yesterday), and that pegasus_home exists, and that I can do a minimal connected using WBEMDISCO
I have also noticed since that WBEMDISCO does not return any EVA data, just the SNIA identifiers.
I guess I have to un-install and re-install the SMI-S EVA package that came with CVEVA 6.0.2
Any other ideas on how to fix?

Re: SIM 5.1 SP1 and monitoring EVA's - CVEVA 6.0.2 and SMIS-EVA
WIll work it, any other info would be appreciated
IT should be noted that this server is also running as our Symantec Netbackup 6 Master server, and possible this is causing issues.

Re: SIM 5.1 SP1 and monitoring EVA's - CVEVA 6.0.2 and SMIS-EVA
wbemdisco - yes
I have just found out something though - it appears another process is using 5988 and 5989, so I need to un-install everything, stop the process using the ports, re-install and then change ports in wbemport nad on cimom to new ports, then re-start other services

Re: SIM 5.1 SP1 and monitoring EVA's - CVEVA 6.0.2 and SMIS-EVA
There are utilities to add smi-s users and manage passwords etc, search on cimuser for a start.
By default the account / password is administrator/administrator. Try that first.

Re: SIM 5.1 SP1 and monitoring EVA's - CVEVA 6.0.2 and SMIS-EVA
WBEMdisco is now seeing the EVA's, but insight manager is not, so I am closer.
I ran another Indentify Systems against this box, and I am still getting:
Checking for WBEM support on system.
This system does not have any SMI-S CIMOM installed
SO, now somrthing in the way insight manager talks via WBEM is the issue.
System Protocol settings are correct,
WBEM is enabled
wbemportlist.xml has the right information (http and port 5988)
I have restarted SIM
I am wondering whether the account has to be a domain account so that both boxes know about it
any more ideas?

Re: SIM 5.1 SP1 and monitoring EVA's - CVEVA 6.0.2 and SMIS-EVA
Any ideas on how SIM actually connects?
Again, wbemdisco now owrks fine, just cannot get it to see in SIM
I have noticed that I get a path error in WbemAuthCheck.cmd, but I do not think it is related.
anymore info would be great
