SIM and MSA 1000
Hello,
How is an MSA 1000 added to SIM? I have SIM 4.2 SP2 newly installed on a DL360 running Windows Server 2003 EE. The MSA 1000 is attached via a fiber link. I've been unable to find information on how to add the MSA 1000, a pointer to documentation is welcome.
Thanks
Gordon

Re: SIM and MSA 1000
You can use Array configuration Utility on the host and configure ACU to run as a service on that machine. So, to see the ACU web page you just have to open the insight agent web page of that host.

Re: SIM and MSA 1000
I've changed the ACU to run as a service and ACU is now listed in the SIM navigation menu, but to be more clear, I'm looking to obtain log entries in SIM from the MSA 1000 for overtemp and other critical conditions. Is that possible?

Re: SIM and MSA 1000
Gordon,
you may need to enable the Event notifier on the server. I have just been looking at this myself, and noticed that this covers a vast number of storage events.
not quite integrated into SIM, so perhaps there is another way; although that would suggest that there would be some form of Storage monitor service to be loaded somewhere.
Dean.
