SIM and WEBM

I am not able to get the WEBM protocol to be recognized on any server except the SIM server. I have the credentials loaded in the GLOBAL settings, verified the password on the Local Agent, have run ELMSETUP to reset password, and tried putting the credentials locally at the host, and still can not get WEBM to show up. Re: SIM and WEBM

Yes, i have tried to perform a new "DATA COLLECTION" as well as many other things. We have same problem on 6 seperate SIM installs, and we have tried all the commomn problems.

What is the OS of the Clients that you're trying to access?

Re: SIM and WEBM

The Clients are Windows 2003 EE, i am able to see the WBEM service on one SIM server, but not the others. The SIM servers are all 5.0 SP4 all the correct SCSI Mini Port, proper SNIA drivers. Credentials are correct, just plain odd.

Re: SIM and WEBM

You should not need to do anything, just use Domain Credentials for WBEM access, I think you can use Local credentials as well.

If I understand the Windows Server set up correctly it uses the Pegasus WMI service.

If the WBEM Protocol is not showing up under the Product Description for the service I'd guess the WBEM credentials are incorrect. I use a format of domain\username which works here. Otherwise it may just look for a local account.

Re: SIM and WEBM

Thank you, i have tried all of that. I know the credentials are correct and the service is working on the HOST, as it is available on 1 of SIM Serves. I actually deliver the Technical Training for both SIM and Storage Essentials, and this one is quite odd. I appreciate your input, i will keep plugging away at it.

Re: SIM and WEBM

So, just to confirm, when you look at the Product Description of the Server from HPSIM, WBEM is not one of the discovered protocols?

Typically I'd expect to see http, SMH, SNMP along with WBEM.
Out of interest, were the Servers built with Smart Start?

Re: SIM and WEBM

That is correct, normally i see.
HTTP, SNMP , SMH , OPEN SSH, and WEBM, but WEBM is missing on all servers except the SIM Server itself. And i can repeat the problem, and have on multiple boxes. The only exception is, one of the SIM Servers in my LAB does see all 5 protocols on all servers in the lab
